What two people should budget
Two omakase menus cost $450. Two $110 beverage pairings take that to $670. These subtotals exclude tax, gratuity and any service charge. Mako does not publish those amounts, so confirm them before relying on a final total.
Corkage is $50 per bottle, for bottles that aren't already on Mako's beverage menu. One bottle with corkage costs less than two pairings, before you count what you paid for the wine. The pairing's wine and sake were chosen course by course, so that's the trade you're making.
Seating times, cancellation and walk-ins
Book on Tock. Seatings are at 6 and 8:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and at 4, 6 and 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Mako is closed Monday and Tuesday. There are no walk-ins, but same-day reservations are accepted until 2 p.m. if seats are left. If your date is full, choose Join Waitlist next to the time on Tock.
Deposits aren't refunded for cancellations within 48 hours of the reservation. Mako suggests transferring the reservation to someone else instead, and asks you to email info@makochicago.com as early as possible if you need a different date or time. We couldn't load Tock, so we haven't confirmed the deposit amount.
If you're running late, call (312) 988-0687. Because the room is served together, you'll join at whatever course is being served when you arrive.

The deposit's credit toward dinner, the release schedule and regular party-size limit remain unverified. The FAQ recommends transfers, but the platform procedure is unconfirmed.
Diets, children and arrival
A gluten-free omakase is available on request. Because the menu centers on seafood, Mako can't accommodate vegetarian, vegan or kosher diets, or soy or sugar allergies. The current menu also includes pork. The kitchen makes as few changes as it can, so email info@makochicago.com about anything else before you book.
Mako doesn't bar children but strongly discourages anyone under 10, because of the meal's length and the effect on other guests. A child needs a paid seat and gets the full menu. Smart casual dress is recommended. Keep photos to a minimum, with no flash and no video.
There's no valet. Street parking is on Halsted and Lake streets, and there's a lot directly across the street. Mako has no private dining room but offers buyouts.
Dietary, visitor and private-event policies
No duration or step-free route is published. The gap between seating times is not a meal-length promise. Our planning advice is to confirm a finish time and access before adding an event afterward.
Compare before booking
Kyōten costs $880 for two on non-Friday/Saturday nights with service included, before tax and drinks. Mako's menu-only $450 excludes unverified service and gratuity, so the difference is not a final-bill comparison. Kyōten's former booking page estimated two and a half to three hours; Mako publishes seating times but no duration.
Indienne publishes vegetarian and vegan tasting menus. Mako cannot accommodate either diet, even though it can make a gluten-free omakase on request. Choose dietary fit before comparing pairing or corkage costs.
