How much is dinner for two?

Ever's public OpenTable listing, checked September 30, lists the menu at $345 per person. We did not verify availability or final checkout.

  • Two menus: $690.
  • With the 20% service charge Ever adds to every check: $828, before tax and drinks.

The FAQ says the service charge pays dining room and kitchen staff and covers their health care and paid sick time. You can still leave a tip, and Ever says all of it goes to the people who served you. Service charge policy.

Wine pairings cost extra, and Ever doesn't publish the price, so it's not in our totals. There's also wine by the glass and bottle, classic cocktails and a short list of spirits and beer. Bringing your own bottle is allowed, but corkage is $125 a bottle, one bottle per drinking adult, and the wine can't be one already on Ever's list. Get approval first at frontservices@ever-restaurant.com. For two people with two bottles, corkage adds $250 before any service charge. Compare the corkage and bottle cost with the current pairing and wine-list prices.

Reservations and changes

Ever books through OpenTable. Reservations usually open at 9 a.m. Central Time on the first Tuesday of each month, two to three months ahead. The FAQ's example is that August tables go live on the first Tuesday in June. The Insiders Club newsletter sends a reminder before each release, and OpenTable has a waitlist for full dates. Reservation policies.

All sales are final and non-refundable. If you can't go, email info@ever-restaurant.com to transfer the reservation to someone else. Arriving more than 10 minutes late may mean you miss part of the meal, so leave a real buffer if you're flying in the same day. Ever is closed Sundays and Mondays, and emails sent then get answered on Tuesday.

Gift cards work on the night, but OpenTable can't take them for the deposit. Email info@ever-restaurant.com if you want to book with one. The private dining room seats up to 12, and the whole restaurant can be booked out. The Canvas by Ever, next door, handles 8 to 80 seated guests or 100 for a reception.

The public experience lists 1 to 12 guests and says prepaid. The FAQ's deposit and gift-card wording does not establish the initial charge or credit for every booking. Confirm the payment breakdown before paying. Age rules are not published.

Dietary restrictions need advance approval

Ever needs at least 72 hours' notice, sent through the pre-visit questionnaire. The kitchen can handle these:

  • Seafood allergies.
  • Tree nut and peanut allergies, as long as coconut is fine.
  • Pregnancy restrictions.
  • Pescatarian diets.
  • Lacto-ovo vegetarian diets, but egg, gelatin and dairy can't be left out.

Ever won't substitute for dislikes, and it can't take guests whose allergies react to cross-contamination. A vegan or dairy-free guest isn't covered by the vegetarian menu. Read the full dietary policy.

Send the exact ingredients each guest avoids, not just a label like vegetarian, and wait for Ever to confirm before you pay. The sale is final, so a no after checkout costs you the full price.

Arrival, parking and the rest of your night

Ever is at 1340 W. Fulton Street in the West Loop. The closest L stop is Ashland on the Pink and Green Lines. If you drive, the garage attached to the building gives four hours of validated parking for $7. The entrance is on Ada Street, just north of Fulton. The whole restaurant is ADA-accessible, including the route from the garage. There's no dress code, though Ever says most guests wear business casual or cocktail clothes. Arrival information.

The four-hour parking allowance exceeds the published dinner estimate, but include arrival and departure time in your plans. If you want a drink before or after, After Chicago, the bar Ever runs, is next door at 1338 W. Fulton and welcomes walk-ins. It takes its own OpenTable bookings.

Nearby Smyth and Oriole are worth comparing on menu format, dietary fit and total cost before you choose by location alone.

Compare before booking

Alinea's November Salon is $948 for two with mandatory service before tax and drinks, versus Ever's $828. The Salon estimates two hours for two guests; Ever estimates two to two and a half. Both require advance dietary approval and sell non-refundable bookings.

BOKA offers à la carte and lists vegan accommodation; Ever serves one fixed progression and cannot remove egg, dairy or gelatin from its vegetarian version. BOKA's published cancellation rule has no fee for five or fewer with notice, whereas Ever's sale is final, with transfers arranged by email.
