What two people should budget
Two tasting menus cost $390. BOKA adds a 4% surcharge to every check in place of raising menu prices, and you can ask to have it taken off. With it, two tasting menus come to $405.60. With two standard wine pairings the total is $603.20, and with two non-alcoholic pairings it's $561.60. All of that is before tax and tip. We didn't find a service charge.
À la carte can cost far less. The kampachi, the scallops, the black truffle chicken and the halibut come to $157 for two, or $163.28 with the surcharge, before drinks and dessert. That's our example order, not a recommendation.

Booking, cancellation and hours
Book on OpenTable or by phone at (312) 337-6070, up to 60 days ahead. BOKA recommends reservations for the bar as well as the dining room, though it takes walk-ins when there's room.
Parties of five or fewer pay no cancellation fee, and the restaurant only asks for notice. Parties of six or more need a credit card hold at booking and are charged $50 per person if they cancel without notice.
Dinner runs Sunday to Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. BOKA doesn't publish how long the tasting menu takes, so ask if you have plans afterward.
Hours, booking and visitor policies
For six or more, the required cancellation notice interval is not specified. Transfer terms and the regular table-size limit also need confirmation; the private Terrace and buyout capacities are separate event limits.
Any initial payment for five or fewer remains unverified; a no-fee cancellation policy does not establish the amount charged at booking.
Diets, bottles and arrival
BOKA says it can handle most common allergies and restrictions, including vegetarian, pescatarian and vegan diets and gluten, dairy and nut allergies. Note them when you book. Corkage is $50 per 750 ml bottle, two bottles per table at most, for wines that aren't on BOKA's list. There's no formal dress code.
Valet costs $19 for the first four hours, at the stand in front of the entrance on Halsted Street. Only trained service animals are allowed. BOKA doesn't publish step-free access details, so ask before booking if that matters.
Hours, booking and visitor policies
OpenTable flags wheelchair access, but does not describe your entrance or restroom route. Age rules are unverified. Our planning advice is to ask for the tasting-menu finish time before putting another Lincoln Park activity after dinner.
Compare before booking
Alinea's November Salon costs $948 for two with mandatory service, before tax and drinks; BOKA's tasting is $405.60 with its removable surcharge. BOKA also lets each guest order à la carte, while Alinea sells prepaid experiences.
Elske sets a two-hour table time for two guests. BOKA does not publish a tasting-menu duration, so Elske supplies a firmer planning estimate for an event afterward. BOKA's no-fee cancellation rule for five or fewer is useful when travel plans may change.
